Funding applications for Fall 2013 service projects are now available:> For the 2013 Funding Application click here:SB Grant Application- Fall 2013

Applications for funding will be due no later than March 29th at 5 pm to the Service Board mailbox in the Student Involvement Complex.

Service-Learning Project Ideas:

  • Volunteer income tax assistance– Students provide income tax assistance at no cost to students and community members
  • Science on Saturday– A day for kids to experience interactive classes about science
  • Elementary school art program– A group of art students teach a weekly art class using a variety of mediums at a local elementary school that does not have the resources or staff for an art class (currently funded for Spring 2011)
  • Get Up and Go– A day for students at Ray Miller Elementary to learn the importance of physical activity and discover ways to become healthier (currently funded for Spring 2011)
  • Recipe book creation– Nursing students compile a cookbook in conjunction with two food pantries using the goods supplied by the pantry
  • Nursing home assistance– Students work with local nursing homes to fill a specific need in their community
  • Teen sobriety nights– Volunteers work with a local teen resource center to plan and execute evenings that give high school students a safe place to hang out
  • Logo design services– Graphic design students work with a local agency to create new logos and business materials
